Why A Seized Car Auction Can Be An Excellent Place To Find A Bargain Vehicle
A seized car auction would be an ideal place to look when you are searching for a bargain vehicle. Although this so-called secret source is nowhere near as secret as it once was, due to the massive publicity it has received in business opportunity magazines, it still remains a prolific source of cheap vehicles. The vehicles are not sold at cheap prices so that the public can get a bargain, that is purely a side effect of the way the system works. The reason the vehicles are sold so cheaply is that the expense of maintaining and storing them would be greater than the loss taken by selling them quickly.
Government Auctions
Seized car auctions are utilized by the authorities as a way of getting rid of vehicles which they have had to seize because of criminal activity. There are also seized car auctions run by the private sector, where vehicles which have been repossessed by lenders are sold to the general public. Many individuals take on a vehicle loan which they are subsequently unable to pay, and so the vehicle has to be repossessed by the lender. These lenders, unlike state and federal government, have a commercial interest in receiving as much money for the vehicle as possible. This means that it is often possible to pick up a greater bargain at the state or federal government auction than it is at a commercial seized cars auction.
Commercial Operations
It is'nt just individuals who get themselves into financial trouble with vehicle defrayments. Lots of commercial operations, including huge scale commercial operations, might fall into a situation like this, particularly during an economic depression. When a large scale dealer in motor vehicles falls upon hard times, this can lead to very large numbers of vehicles being sent to an auction house. Although there will always be many other dealers able to pick up a large consignment, the sheer weight of numbers means that you should keep an eye on this type of auction.
Tax Auctions
A downturn in the economy also means many more vehicles are being seized by the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS has no interest whatsoever in holding onto these vehicles to try to attain a better price. They are sold off at auction as quickly as possible to clear the space, because it simply makes no economic sense to build extra storage facilities to store the vehicles. Tax auctions are a consistent source of cheap, quality vehicles.
Even though the business opportunity media has disclosed these seized car auctions to the public, there are still a vast amount of people that are not aware that the general public may take advantage of them. Many believe that they are open only to the trade. Even in cases where trade identification is necessary, it is really no barrier to your attending the auction. A simple card with your name and address written on it should be sufficient to allow you entry into the seized car auction.
